1. Our commitment to your privacy

Brokerly is committed to protecting the privacy of personal and financial information we collect, hold and use about our clients. This Privacy Policy explains how we manage that information in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. The information we collect

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide credit assistance and broking services. This typically includes your full name, date of birth, contact details, employment and income information, assets and liabilities, identification documents, bank statements and credit history.

Where appropriate, we may also collect sensitive information such as health details — only with your consent and only when it is directly relevant to assessing a credit application.

3. How we collect your information

We collect information directly from you through our online application, secure client portal, phone calls, emails and meetings. With your consent, we may also collect information from third parties such as credit reporting bodies, lenders, your employer, accountants and other professional advisers.

4. How we use your information

Information is handled confidentially and used only for the purpose of providing credit assistance — including comparing lenders, preparing and submitting loan applications, complying with responsible lending obligations, and managing the ongoing client relationship.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes without your express consent.

5. How we store and protect your information

Personal and financial information is stored on secure, access-controlled systems with encryption applied in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised personnel who require the information to perform their duties. We retain records for the period required by Australian law and securely destroy or de-identify information once it is no longer needed.

6. Disclosure to third parties

To provide credit assistance we may disclose your information to lenders on our panel, mortgage insurers, valuers, conveyancers, credit reporting bodies, our aggregator and regulators where required by law. Each of these parties is bound by their own privacy obligations under Australian law.

7. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or out of date. Requests can be sent to support@brokerlyco.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and there is generally no fee for access requests.
